Afghan Canadian Islamic Community

Joining ACIC as their contract graphic designer, I was tasked with working alongside the IT department. I designed templates for a website and app that is currently underdevelopment and will be launching soon.

"Dynamic, Inclusive, Community"

WEBSITE

Working along side ACIC's IT department, and being provided with a list of content that they would like to see on their new website. The main requests being a modern design, Islamic elements, and easy communication. Before designing the website, I created a brand book for ACIC to use with other designers and developers once my contract ended.

The colour palette consists of a deep green that evokes a sense of modernity and professionalism. While the gold exudes an aura of elegance, and success. The eggshell white creates a balance between the rich green and vivid gold. The design style is a blend of traditional Islamic patterning and modern neumorphic design style. This choice updates the visuals of the website to a more clean, aesthetically pleasing visual that viewers will enjoy exploring, while also being easy to navigate.

APP

Once the design for the website was approved, I moved onto creating the app. Since apps are more interactive, I focused on designing simple icons and patterns for easy navigation. I also stuck to the colour palettes and design style to match the website. Another feature I designed was a light and dark mode for individuals who like to switch between screen modes.
