hello!
I am a graphic designer who has been freelancing for six years, and a recent graduate from OCAD univeristy with a bachelors in graphic design as well as minor in entrepreneurship and social innovation. I volunteer my time for the non-profit organization, AYEDI (Afghan youth engagement development initiative), as member of the executive board and main graphic designer. As a designer I have a deep passion for creating sleek and aesthetically pleasing designs.
Before starting a project I like to invent fantasy scenarios, developing a story on how each piece will live in the world I create. My inspirations for design comes from my love of science fiction movies and deep fondness for ancient history. I love to incorporate my heritage with modern design and continue to use Canadian, Central Asian, and Islamic art in my work. I want to show the world what it means to be an Afghan designer and how an individual from the diaspora can harmoniously meld together these cultures through my work.
