(Hope) is an immersive experience, a large structured semi-spherical dome inspired by Islamic architecture. With intricately designed Islamic patterns machine cut from basswood. The colour changing dome is influenced by the beautifully vibrant colour work in traditional Afghan jewelry and clothing.
For the lost children of the diaspora or anyone seeking refuge, clarity and unity. OMID aims to encapsulate the viewer in a safe, mesmerizing environment to evoke serenity, peace and a sense of calmness. A structure to give the self sanctuary, to be one with themselves. Focusing on the repetitive geometric design, OMID allows for a sense of release of a high state of consciousness and through the river of vibrant colours the individual, can rest, sooth their mental anguish and nurture their interior garden.

Lay down underneath the precisely built dome. Look up and slowly trace the shapes of the detailed, repetitive, geometric Islamic pattern and allow the world to suddenly stop. Glide your eyes across shapes of diamonds, triangles, and hexagons as you slowly feel your body come back to its self and lay patiently as your mind clears. Watch as the bright colours from the vibrant lights guide you away from your mental anguish and into a pure, peaceful state of serenity.
With OMID I hope to give back to the lost children of the diaspora. To the ones aimlessly walking through life without a dwelling, a sanctuary, a safe space to call home. I give you OMID a piece built from my passion to help uplift people who are struggling through mental anguish, individuals who are struggling to fit the pieces of their puzzle back together, who’s souls are crying out for salvation.
